Alex Wheatley joins Granite IT as our newest Level 2 Technician, bringing over three years of hands-on experience supporting IT systems across Catholic schools in Perth. A graduate of North Metropolitan TAFE with a Diploma in IT, Alex has developed strong skills in Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, and Virtualisation through his work managing complex school environments.

Before joining Granite IT, Alex served as an on-site IT coordinator, supporting hundreds of staff and students while maintaining servers, networks, and cloud systems. His ability to work independently, troubleshoot efficiently, and communicate clearly with users at all levels has made him a reliable and trusted technician. Alex’s technical depth spans both Apple and Microsoft ecosystems, along with expertise in VMWare, Hyper-V, and enterprise device management platforms.

Having grown up around the IT industry, Alex brings both technical expertise and a lifelong passion for technology. Outside of work, he enjoys Warhammer 40K, video games, and 3D printing and has a particular fondness for tanks.

Alex’s mix of practical experience, problem-solving ability, and enthusiasm for all things tech makes him a great addition to the Granite IT team.
